The Animal Care League in Oak Park gained a stray dog after it was rescued following reports of a stray dog on the expressway near the Harlem Avenue exit Thursday morning.

Planning is underway for the 40th annual A Day in Our Village, Oak Park's annual festival celebrating diversity and community involvement. This year's event is scheduled for Sunday, June 2.

The One Earth Film Festival, sponsored by Green Community Connections, announced the winners of its first Young Filmmakers Contest for the festival.

The search is underway to find to next 15 artists to paint murals on the railroad walls along the Green Line corridor. The project was launched in 2010 to promote creative expression and visually enhance the area.
