Clark Gas Station, 330 Chicago Ave., sold a jackpot-winning lotto ticket worth $8,750,000 last Saturday. The Oak Park store will receive $87,500, or 1 percent of the jackpot amount, for selling the winning ticket.
Opportunities for Illinoisans with criminal backgrounds seeking jobs with state agencies may be improving. Gov. Pat Quinn, earlier this month, signed an administrative order instructing all state agencies to remove the question, asking whether a person has been convicted of a crime, from state employment applications.
Robert Feder's media column in the Trib notes this is the 25th anniversary of the launch of V-103, now the top-rated radio station in Chicago with its urban contemporary music format. Feder talked about the station's launch as a replacement for WBMX (The Black Music Experience).
The Oak Park based Legacy Sports Camp will be turning 5-years old on Nov 1st. To celebrate, they will be offering $5 camps on Friday November 1st and Saturday November 2nd at both the ARC and Ascension School in Oak Park.
