Report from the Saturday Night Obama Rally
My wife Marsha tricked me into going to the Obama rally in Hyde Park Saturday. She told me that the gates opened at 4 p.m., and the program began at 4:30 p.m.

In defense of NIMBYs
So Wednesday night there was a public meeting at the library to discuss the Interfaith Housing Development's proposal to convert the abandoned Comcast Building at Madison and Oak Park into 51 apartments for people who earn less than $26,400.
Ray Johnson's Solution To A Non-Existent Problem
It's not really a big deal, but I thought it odd that according to Marty Stempniak's report two gay Village trustees, Ray Johnson and Colette Lueck, were proposing that the village partner with the high school's Gay-Straight Alliance to post a video on the website" It Gets Better Project".
Could the Village cut more personnel?
The Village is trying to balance its budget with a little revenue increase from various taxes and fees, and some modest cuts.
I suggest a two referendum strategy for District 97
The District 97 Board of Education will decide this month how much money it plans to ask from voters for its operating referendum in next April's election.
Berwyn on a roll

I don't know who does Berwn's publicity, but for the second time in a couple of months, it's the subject of a big flattering piece in the Chicago Tribune. The most recent was in Friday's paper.
This Sunday marks the 33rd Anniversary of Chicago Marathon

The Chicago Marathon is Sunday. It looks a little warm, but hopefully everyone will survive. Not surprisingly, Oak Park is well represented at the Marathon. Last year 182 Oak Parkers finished the race
