In his final blog post, Roger Ebert covered a lot of ground as he explained to readers what he would focus on even as new health issues led him to pull back from other duties. Ebert, of course, died very quickly after that post and his funeral was Monday in Chicago.

Or invite six people to see you make the march but do it in the less welcoming UIC Forum arena in the concrete splendor of the Circle Campus.
In her Sun-Times column Wednesday, Lynn Sweet reported on the ways that Sen. Mark Kirk (R.-IL) has changed his thinking in the wake of the serious stroke he suffered a little more than one year ago. The most telling change in approach was his announcement Tuesday that he now supported marriage for gays and lesbians.
Papaspiros, the Greek restaurant on Lake Street near Oak Park Avenue, is closed – mostly empty, colorful blue awnings gone poof. The Journal has reported on the closing of the restaurant. Still after being a fixture on the street for 15 years, the sudden absence seems a bit of a shock.
