Girl Scout troops in Service Unit 409 (Oak Park , Forest Park , River Forest) were busy in November and December collecting coats and other winter clothing items for the Kids Kloset located at First United Church in Oak Park.

Get Covered America--a non-profit, non-partisan campaign of Enroll America--is moving in to the neighborhood. The GCA field office, located at 1048 Pleasant St., will be open from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 11.
The spirit of giving was in full effect last weekend as the OPRF High School Hockey Club collected over 10,000 pounds of donated food to help feed the hungry during the holiday season. Donated items were delivered to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry during the club's Hockey Checks Hunger Food Drive.
