The Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation invites nominations for our third annual Excellence in Philanthropy awards. These awards honor those who demonstrate significant philanthropic impact in Oak Park-River Forest. Past winners include: Mary Jo Schuler, Lisa Lewis, Chatka Ruggiero, the Rotary Club of Oak Park & River Forest, Oak Park Apartments.com, Community Bank of Oak Park & River Forest, the Lemon Aid Stand Kids, The Children's Clinic – Circle 80, and the Tau Gamma Service Club of OPRFHS.
There are three categories for award nomination – Individual, Business or Organization and Youth.
Excellence in Philanthropy: Outstanding Individual Award, for the person who demonstrates specific outstanding generosity through direct philanthropic support, community service that supports charitable causes, or other philanthropic initiative(s) to improve the lives of people in the community, and encouraging others to take leadership roles in philanthropy (i.e. challenge gifts, matching gifts, volunteering, etc.).
Excellence in Philanthropy: Business or Organization Award, for the business or organization (can be a service club/group) that demonstrates outstanding fundraising support, community service, and/or other activity performed by its members to benefit a charitable cause.
Excellence in Philanthropy: Youth Award, for an individual or youth group (under 21) who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the community through fundraising support, community service, and/or other activity to benefit a charitable cause.

The purpose of the Oak Park - River Forest Community Foundation is to inspire philanthropy and to steward the community toward sustainability and well-being. The Foundation serves Oak Park and River Forest community by: stimulating and facilitating individual philanthropy; being accountable and prudent managers of donor funds; making responsive and informed grants; and, convening resources to address community priorities and interests. The Foundation is located at 1049 Lake Street, Suite 204, in downtown Oak Park.
