Time running out for art fans to choose favorite public sculptures
Sun., Sept. 30 is the deadline for Oak Parkers who have taken the community's first annual summer outdoor sculpture walk to vote on their favorite work via an online survey. The Public Art Advisory Commission, which organized the walk, is considering recommending that the Village Board purchase one of the walk's 12 pieces for permanent display in the community. By ranking the art, residents can help commission members determine if a recommended purchase is in order and, if so, which piece to support. Art is on display at locations on Lake Street and Forest Avenue through Oct. 14. To participate, just take the walk, go to www.surveymonkey.com/s/sculpturewalk and rank the sculptures by preference.
