Find good folks and good music at your library this fall, when the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library bring Matt Watroba and Jamie O'Reilly to the stage for their lively Folk Music Concert Series.

Matt Watroba, "the voice of folk music in Michigan," joins us on Monday, October 5. The producer and host of the Folks Like Us program on Detroit Public Radio, Watroba is first and foremost a community singer. He has the knack for picking the perfect songs and stories for the audience in front of him. Count on a performance that will get you singing, make you laugh, and leave you feeling a little bit better about the world we live in. Learn more about Watroba and his music.

On Thursday, November 19, come see the singer whom Studs Terkel called "especially gifted, with her vibrant voice and a passion for life." As one of Chicago's premier song stylists, Jamie O'Reilly is known for the lilting cry in her voice and powerful interpretations of ballads and songs for the stage. A rich, aural tradition of singing that Jamie learned from her Aunt Dorothy and her mother contributes to her signature vocal style. Jamie's musical tastes and material range from period songs, grand waltzes, and parlor songs of the 1890s to chamber music, Irish ballads, and Andalusian folk songs. Learn more about O'Reilly and her music.

Both concerts are free and start at 7 pm in the Main Library Veterans Room, 834 Lake St., Oak Park. This series is brought to the community by the Friends of the Oak Park Public Library. For all library events, visit oppl.org/events.
