During Tuesday's D97 board meeting and the public comments section, several parents spoke, upset about the hot classes at the elementary schools. Many also criticized the school board for pursuing a new administration building while heating problems persist in the buildings. One parent quoted Bob Spatz, the board's president, talking about the central office building in one of my old stories, but said I worked for Patch.com. Innocent mistake and no offense taken here. But later in the meeting during a completely unrelated topic, a board member talked about having the media—while looking at me in the audience specifically—cover an upcoming D97 event. I was quick to respond: "Oak Park Patch is on the case."
Laughter followed and the meeting continued.
