TNGP is proud to partner with Sarah's Inn for our first free educational workshop of the 2013-14 season. Sarah's Inn provides comprehensive services for families affected by domestic violence so that they get the support they need to find safety, rebuild their lives, and heal.

All kids need help to be successful in school. They need things like: healthy food, a good night's sleep, school supplies, understanding friends, and grown-ups they can trust. When a classmate needs a fresh start, we can help!

  • Listen and learn as Christina Coghill, Sarah's Inn advocate, reads stories of friendship and compassion, and hosts an interactive discussion.
  • Get crafty! We'll donate your child's handiwork of homemade dream catchers, affirmative message bookmarks, and decorated notebooks to Sarah's Inn clients
  • Role play welcoming a new student with our fun Friendship Charades.

Raid your pantry. Donate healthy school snacks!
We are collecting snacks like granola bars, applesauce cups/packets, and cheese and cracker packs for Sarah's Inn's clients. Individually sealed, non-refrigerated items please.

Join in on this worksop Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Oak Park Main Library, 834 Lake St. on the first floor in the Children's Storytime room. Walk-ins are welcome between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Groups and troops begin at 4:30 p.m.
