And speaking of local documentaries, the Oak Park Women's Exchange, a crafters co-op on the 800 block of South Oak Park Avenue, is celebrating quite a milestone. Any arts & crafts emporium that starts the year Nixon resigned and survives into the teens of the next millennium has accomplished something.
Part of the celebration included a premiere recently at the shop of a documentary produced by OPRF film students about the Women's Exchange's four-decade history. One of the shop's stalwarts, Deanne Alexander, told us you can view the documentary on the village's cable Channel 6.
OPWE is located at 839 S. Oak Park Ave. The shop is worth a visit, and the film worth a viewing. Or visit their website, opwe.org.
