Part-time River Forest resident Gail Mancuso won her second Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series, Monday night, for the Modern Family episode "Las Vegas."

To avoid crying, the Melrose Park native (and brother of local Realtor Gary Mancuso) locked eyes with award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey to give her speech.

"If you don't mind, Matthew, I'm just going to kind of make eye contact with you right now," Mancuso said. "Whoo, that's better."

The award marked Mancuso's third nomination and second Emmy win. She received the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode "Arrested" in 2013.

As she shifted her gaze from McConaughey to her husband, she also thanked her parents who were married 66 years ago on the very day of the 66th Emmy awards ceremony.

"I just want to thank them for giving me such a great life," she said.

Assuming you meant "sister." Probably should have someone doublecheck your copy before posting.
