Church of Beethoven-Oak Park, the monthly Sunday morning classical concert series at Open Door Theater, celebrates its fourth anniversary this Sunday, Aug. 16 at 10:30 a.m.

The intimate classical showcase was the brainchild of Oak Park native Felix Wurman, a cellist with the New Mexico Symphony. Wurman started the series in 2008 in an Albuquerque gas station on Route 66. Today there are five branches of Church of Beethoven in California, New Mexico, Arizona, North Carolina and here in Oak Park.

Mistress of Ceremonies Val Camilletti (of Val's halla Records) presents classical artists and poets in a low-cost intimate setting that's family-friendly. There will be cake! Afterward, concertgoers get a discount at Eastgate Cafe for brunch.

Sunday's concert presents Chicago-born classical and gypsy jazz violinist Samuel "Savoir Faire" Williams and classical guitarist Nick Mizock.
