Is it our imagination or have mosquitos taken the summer off? They seemed to take last summer off too, but that was during a horrendous drought, not conducive to mosquito reproduction. There has been plenty of rain this summer, however, so you'd think there'd be a bumper crop. We haven't seen them.

Yet AccuWeather.com insists the Chicago suburbs have been "ravaged" by mosquitos. They even quote AccuWeather.com Facebook friend Keith P. of Oak Park, who said the mosquitos in his area are "the worst in 20 years."

What gives?

Either way, it shouldn't prevent you from spending an evening in Austin Gardens. Festival Theatre provides plenty of bug spray.
