River Forest student successful in National Braille Challenge

In the June 1 edition of the Wednesday Journal, Staff Reporter Megan Dooley wrote an article on Alexander Traub, an 11-year-old River Forest student who qualified for the 11th Annual National Braille Challenge®.

Now, several weeks later, Traub is back in the news again following his success in the competition, held at the Braille Institute of America in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 25, 2011.

Traub placed third in the sophomore level of the competition and was awarded a $750 savings bond and a trophy.
