Ridge Art will be selling vintage Haitian metal sculpture as well as some contemporary pieces at the Oak Park Conservatory, Friday, July 25, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The event is one of the Conservatory's summer Uncorked wine and beer tastings.
"All of the work will be significantly marked down, and 20% of the proceeds will go to the Conservatory," according to Ridge Art owner Laurie Beasley, who speaks French and some Haitian Kreyol. My French-speaking son, Amman, and I are planning to be there to capture color comments and photos. Here's a classic example of works that will be displayed: "Lion" by Damien Paul, 24" diameter, circa 1960.
