Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago will host its 10th annual Gala of the Arts Friday, September 9, 2011 in Navy Pier's Grand Ballroom, Chicago. The fundraiser will support the on-going Emergency Assistance programs providing food, shelter, clothing, and supportive services for people in crisis in Cook and Lake Counties.

The Fundraiser will feature an encore performance by "Under the Streetlamp" and an intimate evening with the recent stars of Chicago's "Jersey Boys".

The Gala will hold an Art Invitational featuring 15 local and regional visual artists in an art show and sale. A portion of the artists' proceeds will support Catholic Charities' Emergency Assistance programs. Artists will offer a wide range of subjects and media and many are available for commission.

Guest will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and an elegant dinner in the spacious and historic Grand Ballroom, as well as the opportunity to win a wide variety of raffle packages.

"We are grateful to the benefactors and artists who join us at this event to help Catholic Charities' Emergency Assistance programs fill an essential need in our community, serving people who experience an immediate and unexpected crisis," said Monsignor Michael M. Boland, President of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. "People come to us when they have nowhere to turn, and we're ready to provide comprehensive services."

Fifth Third Bank returns for the sixth year as the event's presenting sponsor.

The Gala will also feature an encore exhibit of photographs by guests of the Catholic Charities' Tuesday Night Suppers, who participate in the "Vision of My Life" photography program.
