The public's attention span must be like that of a child with ADD. One day everybody is talking about a story. The next day or week nobody is.
Remember the earthquake and tsunami in Japan? Did that happen this year or last? I thought it was the end of the world. Now it's been replaced by the budget crisis. Did they ever stop the leak?
Our news in Oak Park is the same thing. Whatever happened to the achievement gap? Did we close it? What's the plan? Did we give up?
Speaking of District 200, whatever happened to the mediation to resolve the stupid, wasteful litigation over TIF dough between D200,D97 and VOP? Did the case settle? How far apart are these public bodies? What's next?
What happened to the Colt Building? Remember the development v. preservationist battle that drug on until the collapse of the real estate market turned a prime DTOP parcel of property into a parking lot? That Colt Building. What's going on there? Will it be a parking lot forever?
Speaking of building, how's the capping the IKE Project going? Is that gone forever? At one time intelligent(?) people thought this was a possibility?
Did Mr. Barwin find a place to live. I recollect his deal with the Village over the Barrie Park property was winding down. What's the latest?
These stories need to have ends. It's like watching The Wire for the first 4 seasons, and not watching the 5th and final season. I gots to know what happened.
