River Forest Township and River Forest Public Library are once again co-sponsoring "Let's Celebrate Seniors All Year Long", a series of fun and informative programs for seniors from July-November.

Thursday, July 23, 7 PM, Amelia Earhart: Soaring High on Wings of Success.

Historian Jim Gibbons presents the life of the American aviation legend who vanished without a trace in 1937 while attempting to fly around the world. The search for Earhart's plane is being resumed this July in the Pacific, so this talk is very timely! This program will be held at the River Forest Library.

Monday, August 17, 10 AM, Downsizing and Decluttering

Is it time to start downsizing and decluttering your life? Downsizing usually happens later in life. It can be motivated by an event that requires you to move or just a personal decision to live in an organized environment. Anna Glielmi, Professional Organizer, will provide real-life tips and strategies to help you simplify your life. This program will be held at the River Forest Library.

Future programming in the series includes:

September: River Forest resident Chris Hauri presents Style over 60, fun and practical tips on colors, style and shopping. 9/9, 7 PM at the River Forest Library.

October: River Forest author and Chicago Symphony Orchestra violinist Melanie Kupchynsky shares her remarkable story through her book Strings Attached (great summer reading). 10/4, 2 PM at the River Forest Library.

November: Charles Troy dramatizes the story behind the making of the musical Fiddler on the Roof.  Just in time for the Broadway revival, opening in November! 11/1, 2 PM at the River Forest Community Center.

Seniors are a special focus for the River Forest Library, which provides many programs year round that are geared towards seniors, such as Coffee Mondays and Computer Learning Labs. Partnership with the River Forest Township has allowed the library to continually expand its program offerings for seniors.
