It's been a few weeks since Boston-based developer Community Builders Inc., announced its plan to build a 37-unit affordable apartment building on the empty lot at 801 S. Oak Park Ave.
Oak Parkers will get their first look at the building at a public meeting at the Oak Park Public Library's Maze Branch, 845 Gunderson Ave., on July 12.
Residents can chat with representatives from the developer from 7 to 7:30 p.m., and the meeting will take place between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Community Builders project manager Kirk Albinson told Wednesday Journal in May that the development will be a mixed-use building, meaning retail will occupy the ground floor. The units will mainly consist of one-bedroom and efficiency apartments, he said.
