River Forest resident Lisa Birmingham is the recipient of a prestigious Golden Trumpet Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago for her design work on The Chicago Lighthouse’s 2013 Annual Report, “Honoring History, Making History.” Ms. Birmingham is creative director at the 108-year-old social service agency, which assists individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
 
The award was  presented during  a gala dinner at the Palmer House Hotel June 4th.
 
Program highlights included keynote remarks from former President Jimmy Carter.  Legendary Chicago newsman Bill Kurtis served as emcee.
Since 1996, The Lighthouse has been the recipient of seven Golden and two Silver Trumpet Awards for outstanding achievement in public relations and publications.
