Thanks to Grace Hoffenkamp, 10, her family is the winner of the Xbox Kinect compliments of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.
"Grace urged us to enter and I wasn't really paying much attention to be honest," said Ellen Ross, her mother. "Grace is just thrilled and the hero of the neighborhood."
The Hoffenkamp family entered the prize drawing at the June 5 "Day In Our Village" celebration at the Loyola University Health System booth for Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.
Grace, a student at Longfellow Elementary School, and her brother, Will, 13, who attends Julian Middle School, invited friends, Jeremiah and Anderson Kennedy as well as Celia Pikowski and Maddie Reynolds over to accept the grand prize during a home delivery from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.
"My kids play sports and are good readers but they will definitely enjoy playing the new Xbox with their friends," said Ross, a reading specialist.
The Loyola Gottlieb Center for Health in River Forest on North Avenue will open in early 2012. The Loyola Gottlieb Center will offer immediate care and also have offices for orthopaedic and primary care practices. "This newest addition to Loyola's vast ambulatory network brings the best of academic and community-based medicine to the neighborhoods we serve and to families like the Hoffenkamps," said Trisha Cassidy, interim president, Loyola University Hospital.
