River Forest, Illinois, June 17, 2014 – Nearly 200 alumni of Concordia University Chicago, representing six decades of musicians, will return to campus for a free, historic Ensemble Reunion Concert on Sunday, June 29. The concert, "Celebrating 150 Years of Artistry," honors the University's 150th Anniversary and begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Our Lord, on the University's main campus.

"As a Kapelle choir alumna, I am honored to bring together faculty, staff, and students—both current and former—to showcase our musical heritage to the surrounding community," said Paige Craig, Director of Alumni Relations. "The concert will provide a sampling of talents of more than 3,500 musician alumni who live and serve in Chicagoland and beyond."

The reunion concert's program features individual band and 100-voice choir performances, as well as combined pieces. Highlights include sacred and popular works such as "Christ Is with Me" by Gerald Patrick Coleman and "Dixieland Jamboree" arranged by John Warrington. The program also features local composers Paul Bouman, Class of 1939 (Oak Park, IL), and Dr. Carl Schalk, Class of 1952 (Melrose Park, IL), who studied and taught at the University.

The Concordia University Chicago campus is located at 7400 Augusta Street, River Forest. Free, handicapped-accessible parking is available in the visitors' lot north of the University parking structure off Bonnie Brae Street.
