The third annual "Rock Out for Sarah's Inn" fundraising event on April 19 was held at FitzGerald's Nightclub in Berwyn and was again a success for Sarah's Inn – with lots of fun for participating community members! The benefit concert featured local bands Fletcher Rockwell and The Webstirs and raised nearly $3,000 for the organization. Because FitzGerald's Nightclub generously donated the event space and the bands donated their talent for the evening, all of the ticket proceeds went directly to support Sarah's Inn and the families they serve. Beyond ticket sales, an anonymous donor offered to contribute $2.00 for every person on the dance floor! The result was a $150 donation from this generous individual. The event also included a "split the pot" raffle, which totaled over $900.

The mission of Sarah's Inn is to stand with women and their families to ensure freedom from domestic violence in every community. Sarah's Inn offers free supportive services for victims and their children, and has partnered with local school districts to offer prevention education for children and teens. This year alone, Sarah's Inn will help over 2,000 victims of domestic violence in western Cook County, and field over 5,000 calls on its crisis line. To learn more about Sarah's Inn, its mission and services, please visit www.sarahsinn.org, or the Sarah's Inn Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sarahsinnoakpark.

Sarah's Inn would like to thank FitzGerald's Nightclub, Fletcher Rockwell, The Webstirs and the dedicated Sarah's Inn volunteers who made this event such a success.
