In March, the parent volunteer substance-abuse watchdog group, IMPACT (Parents And Community Together) was awarded a grant from the Community Mental Health Board to hire a program director "to better reach our goal of reducing drug and alcohol use among our teens." Susanna Bohun, the new hire, graduated with her MSW from the Jane Addams College of Social Work in 2004. Since then, she has worked as program supervisor at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls and as supportive housing manager at West Suburban PADS. She also completed her required internship for her School Social Work Certification at Percy Julian and Gwendolyn Brooks middle schools. She currently lives in Oak Park with her husband and son.
You can meet Susanna at IMPACT's next Leadership Meeting on Wednesday, May 21 in the Oak Park Township boardroom, 105 S. Oak Park Ave., in Oak Park. If you're interested in IMPACT, contact Kristine Raino-Ogden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
