The deadline to register a booth for the 39th annual A Day in Our Village Festival on Sunday, June 3, is just around the corner.
Those interested in having a booth must submit an application by Friday, May 4. Booths will be assigned as applications are received. The participation fee/donation of $39 must accompany the application, and additional contributions are welcomed to help offset festival production costs. All Oak Park-based businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate.
Booth assignments are based on how creative and engaging booths are, and awards will be presented to the best booths in three categories: most fun, most creative and most engaging/interactive.
The festival, held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Scoville Park near Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue, was started as a celebration of diversity in Oak Park. The goal is to provide a unique festival where all residents can learn about the civic, cultural, business, religious and other organizations located in the village. The festival will feature lively entertainment, activity booths and a food court showcasing local restaurants. Open houses will also be held throughout the village this day.
Besides the more than 100 entities at the event, the Park District of Oak Park sponsors activities in Rehm Park, 515 Garfield St., including swimming and games.
