Residents of the 700 blocks of Home and Wenonah Avenues gathered at their recent joint block party to celebrate the installation of new 4-way stop signs at Home and Adams. The Home Avenue owners, together with their counterparts in the 600 block of Home, got together a petition to present to the Village of Oak Park; several also attended a committee meeting to testify on the need for the signs at the busy corner.
The same Home and Wenonah blocks also won the 2011 Green Award from the Village for over 25 years of continuous Keep Oak Park Beautiful alley cleanup parties. Their efforts were the model for the Alley Cleanup program.

Upon further research, we've been doing the alley cleaning for 37 years. Our 38th annual alley cleaning is June 2nd. All are welcome to join our award winning wonderful group of neighbors!

Yay for my neighborhood! This is exactly what we need in our community. Well done! If anybody wants to move on to a petition for better crosswalks & some street repair, I'd be happy to sign! lol
