Brooks Middle School collected 924 food donations and $2,940.41 in monetary donations in conjunction with its participation in this year's Feinstein Challenge. The $2,940.41 donation will enable the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry to purchase $29,404.10 worth of food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which serves as the local food bank for the pantry.

Each year, philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein donates one million dollars to pantries across America who participate in his challenge. He divides the money proportionally among all the participants, so the more we raise, the more of his million dollars we receive. But the real heart of this challenge is the community support—from schools to congregations to all the wonderful individuals who rally to help end hunger in their backyard.
