The non-profit organization, Amity School Children's Aid, will hold their annual luncheon fashion show fund raiser on Tuesday, May 14th at the Oak Park Country Club located at 1957 Thatcher Avenue. Doors open at 11:30AM for guests to enjoy cocktails; shop for jewelry, handbags, and other accessory items from local vendors; purchase raffle tickets, and bid on the many silent auction items.

At noon, guests will be invited into the dining room for a sit-down luncheon prepared by Chef Christian and the Oak Park Country Club staff. Immediately following dessert, the organizational models, including the group's President, Myra Price, members Lisa Lewis, Michele Moore, Laura Myntti, Annie Doppes and Iris Saavedra, will stroll the runway in fashions from local boutiques Muse, Jayne, and Madison Street Shoes, along with stylish furs and fine outerwear from the York Furrier 81st Anniversary Collection. In addition, several children models will don clothing from Sugarcup Trading. The York Furrier Fashion Coordinator, Faran Fronczak, will provide commentary and trend reporting.

After the fashion show, York Furrier Co-Owner, Kathy Rezny, will receive the organization's 3rd annual Outstanding Citizen Award for her work with Amity's annual fund raiser for the past seven years. Previous award recipients include: 2011 Amity members, Catherine Adduci and Michelle Moore for their individual support for the organization's mission; and in 2012 member LaVerne Collins was recognized for her years as an enthusiastic Amity volunteer.

Founded in 1924, Amity School Children's Aid, is dedicated to helping public school children in Oak Park and River Forest by confidentially providing essential needs such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, shoes, or winter coats. The children being assisted are not on any Public Aide, however, due to medical issues or perhaps reduced wages, the family finds itself unable to provide these needed items. School nurses and principals provide Amity with a list of potential recipients and their particular need. Amity is comprised of a completely volunteer staff with funding being generated by generous individuals, PTOs, area merchants, and other organizations. 100% of all donated funds are used to help the children!

Event tickets are $45.00 each with checks payable to AMITY and mailed to:
