District 200 board candidate Melanie McQueen to host forum

D200 Board Candidate Melanie McQueen will address the community on her vision for educational excellence in Oak Park and River Forest High School hosted by Chicago's Chicken & Waffles II Oak Park location.

Details: D200 Board Candidate Melanie McQueen is a passionate advocate for equity in education for all children. She is supportive of teachers and administration that have a positive daily impact on our students. As a youth director she has mentored to youth for over a decade.

She is VP of Community on the Longfellow Elementary School PTO Board and member of the OPRFHS Booster Club Silent Auction Committee. She is a member of the D200 Strategic Planning Steering Committee. She has put in careful thought, time and research in a collaborative effort with stakeholders in helping develop a 5-year plan that will have a transformative impact on moving our school forward. She believes that education is a science, not a practice. Melanie will be speaking on her vision of educational excellence at Chicago's Chicken and Waffles II, Oak Park location at 534 Madison St. OPRFHS students are invited to attend and will receive a student discount with student I.D.
