Four Women Artists present FA?ADES at Oak Park Public Library through March

Four Oak Park artists come together to present a unique group show. See the work of Maura Checconi Crubellati, Nancy Wisti Grayson, Ann Primack and Marcia Palazzolo - united by the theme FAÇADES - at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street through March. Each artist uses her own medium, experiences and interpretation to create work for this show. A reception for the artists will be held Sunday, March 10, from 3 to 5 pm in the library's art gallery. The exhibit is open seven days a week during regular library hours. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Maura Checconi Crubellati was born in Genoa, Italy. She studied Painting Conservation in Rome, at Istituto Centrale per il Restauro. She ran her private practice in art conservation for 15 years before moving to Chicago in 2007. She devoted all her professional life to art conservation, working for museums, churches and private collectors. She painted in her spare time, taking classes both in Italy (Genoa, Venice and Milan) and in America (Chicago). She's a member of the Oak Park Art League.

Marcia Palazzolo is a life-long resident of Oak Park who attended Oak Park & River Forest High School and the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana. She received a Masters degree in Photography from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology and since 1980 has been teaching photography at Dominican University, Concordia University and Elmhurst College.

Ann Primack lives in Oak Park and teaches at the Oak Park Art League and the Senior Citizens Center of Oak Park and River Forest. Her work is exhibited at The State of "Illinois Building Gift shop, Gallery Pink and elsewhere. She studied art and ceramics at Colorado College, Colorado Springs, The Appalachian Center for the Crafts, Smithville, Tennessee, and the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Nancy Wisti Grayson – Detroit, Michigan native, received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in painting from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Nancy also attended the Villa Schifanoia Graduate School of Fine Arts in San Domenico, Italy. During September and October 2008, she had a residency at Palazzo Rinaldi, in Noepoli, Basilicata, Italy. Her work has been in one person, two person, and group exhibitions as well as private and public collections in the United States and Europe.

Oak Park Public Library's Art Gallery features a local artist or group of artists each month. The gallery is open seven days a week during regular library hours.
