OPRF art students recognized at inaugural Illinois High School Regional Art Exhibition

Seven OPRF art students were recognized at the inaugural Illinois High School Regional Art Exhibition Art Show, held last Sunday at the Zhou Art Center in Chicago. Sixty-five schools participated in the art show and competition. Each school selected five works for display. In addition, senior art students could apply for a Senior Portfolio Scholarship by submitting their portfolio of work online. Several students took home awards:
- Seniors Franka Contreras, Sophie Dennis, and Jessica Kaplan were offered Portfolio Scholarship Awards for full or partial tuition . Their artwork will be featured at a Senior Portfolio Show on March 8th at Gallery 400, with a show and art opening in the evening.
- Seniors Erin Yen and Gabriel Matesanz received awards for, respectively, photography and graphic design.
- Junior Sarah Luepker received an award for 3-Dimensional art and a Summer Early College Art Scholarship to Columbus College of Art and Design.
- And finally, freshman Annabel Huber received an award for drawing as well as a Summer Early College Art Scholarship to American Academy of Art.
