With the Academy Awards on tap for this Sunday, February 22, it just seems absolutely right to announce my second annual DBB's One Earth Film Festival (March 6-8) top Five Flick Picks for Gardeners...

Dim the lights and, open the envelopes, please...

1.  3 PM, March 7 – PORTRAIT OF AN URBAN BEEKEEPER – Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Dr., Chicago (BTW, if you can't get there, watch it here.)
2.  3 PM, March 8 – SYMPHONY OF THE SOIL --Performing Arts Center, Triton College, 2000 5 th Ave., River Grove.
3.  11 AM, March 7  – NO LAND, NO FOOD, NO LIFE --Institute of Cultural Affairs, 4750 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago.
4.  7 PM, March 6, Green Carpet Gala - GROUND OPERATIONS: BATTLEFIELD TO FARMFIELD, Columbia College Chicago, 1104 S. Wabash, 8th floor.

5.  3 PM, March 8 -  JUST EAT IT – Oak Park Public Library, Main Branch.

Well...that was officiously official.

BTW:  as you see the flicks, you can vote for your fave film via the Green Community Connections website during the Festival.  The top 3 audience winners will be screened by a jury of professional filmmakers and environmental leaders.  And, the winning "Festival Choice" film will be screened in downtown Chicago on Earth Day, as part of the City of Chicago's Earth Day celebration!  Also, now through the Fest, check out this ongoing, and local, free art event, #LOVEONEEARTH

No secret here that the urban bee guy get's my thumbs way up.  But, you know, we do have our own urban beekeeper.  It's Harry Patterson.  Here's a another look at how he's doing his bee thing for all of us.

That's all the buzzzzz for now.
