Those of us that already love the dining scene in and around Oak Park will be flocking to try out the more than 50 restaurants participating in Foodie Fest. There are lunch, dinner, and Prix Fixe deals galore.
Unfortunately, time won't permit me to visit all of the participating restaurants so I decided to make a short list of some my old favorites and some places that I MUST try. Since I'm a huge fan of dining out in the Suburbs, I've tried quite a few of the participating restaurants and I've highlighted some of my favorite dishes below.
|Restaurant Name||Cuisine||Eat The Burbs - Favorite Dishes|
|Aripo's Venezuelan Arepa House||Venezuelan||ETB Must Try, I love Arepa|
|Autre Monde Café||Mediterranean||ETB Must Try, Amazing Menu & Michelin|
|Jerusalem Café||Mediterranean||Chicken Shawarma and Hummus|
|Klay Oven||Indian||Tamatar Shorba, Lobster Masala, Mango Lassi|
|Poor Phil's||American||Lobster Dinner|
|Sushi House||Japanese/Sushi||Chirashi Bowl|
|Taste of Brasil Cafe||Brazilian||ETB Must Try, Brazilian Food is Amazing|
|Wishbone||American - Southern||Shrimp and Grits w/ Extra Mushrooms|
The 'Eat the 'Burbs' Blog, Facebook page, and Instagram exist to highlight the Suburban Foodscape. 'Eat The Burbs' was born out of the need for blog owner and Small Business Advocate Rachell to keep a fresh list of new places to try in the Suburbs and to entice family and friends to 'Eat Suburban'. Eat the 'Burbs has evolved into a community of food lovers, restaurant owners, and entrepreneurs that are committed to seeing Suburban businesses thrive.
