Oak Park, Illinois – The North Avenue Business Association (NABA) is sponsoring its eighth annual scholarship program for high school seniors entering college as a business major.
"In today's tough economic times, the North Avenue Business Association feels it is very important to give back to the community and help our future business leaders fulfill their dreams of going to college and getting their business degree." states Lee Owens NABA President. "You never know, the next Bill Gates of Microsoft or Ginni Rometty of IBM could be someone right here in our community."
Eligible students must complete an application and essay, and reside in the Village of Oak Park, River Forest or in the City of Chicago neighborhoods of Galewood and parts of Austin. Chicago resident borders are Armitage/Railroad Tracks (2000 North) to the north, Division (1200 North) to the south, Austin Boulevard (6000 West) to the east and Harlem (7200 West) to the west.
The deadline for applications is March 31, 2014. Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded by the North Avenue Business Association in mid- April 2014.
The mission of the North Avenue Business Association is to enhance the overall commercial district's image and promote the long-term viability of the business district on North Avenue, located currently between but not limited to Harlem Avenue and Austin Boulevard.
