All parents have a toolbox filled with “parenting” tools to help them guide and raise their children. We have tools for setting limits, motivating our children and instilling our values. All of these are important, but we also need tools to help our children grow emotionally and socially!
If our children are going to learn and experience success in school and life, then we need to teach, support and encourage our kids to:
- Identify, express and manage their emotions
- Develop positive relationships with others
- Develop a positive self-concept
