Parent Connection Highlights: Historically Black Colleges and Universities

In order to support our students who want to attend HBCUs, Robert Mason, The CEO of EDU, Inc., has agreed to allow students who attend this event on Monday, Dec. 9, 7 p.m. in OPRF Staff Cafeteria the opportunity to apply to 32 HBCUs through the common application for only $15 instead of the usual $35.  Students who would like to take advantage of this generous offer will need to bring a check or money order made out to EDU, Inc.

Jann Honore, an Oak Park resident and Regional Development Director of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), will be a featured speaker.  Learn about opportunities available to all students at these outstanding educational institutions.  This event will feature:

  • OPRF parents and alumni discussing their experiences at HBCUs
  • Scholarship information to support HBCU attendees
  • An opportunity for students to apply online to 32 HBCUs through the HBCU common application ($15 special for students who attend)
  • Financial aid consultants from Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC)
  • HBCU representatives
