In a ceremony held Oct. 22 at the Hilton Austin in Austin, Texas, the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) named Ray Heise, former Oak Park village attorney, a "Local Government Fellow."
The IMLA Local Government Fellows Program recognizes attorneys as legal specialists in the field of local government law and encourages attorney proficiency and competency in the local government legal field.
Heise, who retired last year after serving for more than 35 with the village and 28 years as village attorney, was honored at the IMLA luncheon. During his time in Oak Park, he drafted, implemented and enforced numerous intergovernmental agreements.
