On Nov. 21, the OPRFHS Environmental/ Biology Club was awarded a Village of Oak Park 2013 Green Award in a ceremony at the 19th Century Women's Club. The award focused mainly on the club's "Herban' Garden," which it designed, raised all funds for, built, planted, and maintained. The club donated the harvest to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry and the OPRFHS Food Service. The plants are all organic and raised organically. The club has just put the garden to bed for the third season and is looking forward to planning its fourth garden starting this February.
