I know, I know, the lawn is under snow. (And I'm a poet and I didn't know it!)
I realize that winter is not the traditional time to think about gardening and lawn care - but who cares about tradition? Actually, winter is the time when many of us gardeners start scanning seed catalogs wishing for an early spring. If you're at all like that, you'll likely enjoy this essay by local gardener and ecologist Adrian Fisher about a more sensible path to lawn care.
So, this reading is your gardening assignment for the weekend, and I will even cancel the quiz next week in recognition the holiday. Class dismissed.
Back to the stove, you, finish cooking up that pot of wassail!
