The Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation announced the awarding of $76,500 in funding to local organizations and institutions at its Annual Grants Breakfast, Nov. 12 at the Oak Park Country Club. The Foundation provides grants from a variety of its funds, coordinates with other funders, and works to match donor interests with opportunities in the community.

This year, the Community Foundation gave grants from its charitable endowment in the areas of health, youth, seniors, family support, and community. The Foundation prioritized awards to programs that demonstrated measurable impact in the Oak Park and River Forest communities. Donor advised funds provided grants to the Senior Citizen's Center of Oak Park and River Forest and to Sarah's Inn. Grants from the Communityworks endowment this year go to Dominican University in support of the Community Leadership Program and to Seven Generations Ahead for PlanItGreen.
