Garage parking to be free on Saturdays for holiday shoppers
Oak Park shoppers will get an early holiday present on weekends – free parking in Village parking garages in the business districts. Free Saturday parking actually will begin the day after Thanksgiving when garage parking will be free on Fri., Nov. 23 and Sat., Nov. 24. Free garage parking also will be offered on Saturdays, December 1, 8, 15 and 22. Parking in Oak Park always is free on Sundays. Village Hall closed for Thanksgiving
Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison St., will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, for Thanksgiving. Regular business hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.. Parking Services is open until 7 p.m. most Mondays. Should an incident that doesn't quite rise to the level of a 9-1-1 emergency occur when Village Hall is closed, call the Police Department non-emergency number 708.386.3800 for assistance. Holiday to affect waste collection schedule
Refuse, recycling and yard waste collection will be delayed by the Thanksgiving holiday. If your regular pick-up is on Thursday, your collection will be delayed until Friday, and Friday's collection delayed until Saturday. For more information, call 708.358.5700 or e-mail publicworks@oak-park.us.
Annual fall leaf collection ends next week
The week of November 26 is the last chance to take advantage of the Village's annual fall leaf collection program. By the time the program ends, residents will have had seven opportunities to have their leaves picked up – click here to view a map of the pick-up schedule. Leaves should be raked into the street at least 18 inches from the curb the day before the scheduled pickup dates.
