OPRF High School graduate (2008) and first round NBA draft pick Iman Shumpert gave notice in a recent New York Post blog entry that the biggest game he has on his mind is a match-up against the Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose.
Shumpert, who back in June was picked 17th by the New York Knicks, said he was looking forward to going up against the 2010-11 League MVP if ever the NBA and the Players Union agree on terms and the lockout ends.
"I have been a Bulls fan my whole life. Growing up in the Chicago area, I naturally want to play against Derrick Rose," he writes in the blog. "I was younger than him and our high school got knocked out of the state tournament in the semifinals right before we would have played his school [Simeon]. Now I'll finally get to play him. He's the MVP. I'll be a rookie coming in, going against my hometown Chicago, playing for one of the Bulls' rivals with all that history. That's the game I'll be most excited about."
If a season exists, the Bulls are scheduled to face the Knicks four times, with the first battle coming on Feb. 2 at Madison Square Garden.
