Thirteen Fenwick students named National Merit scholarship program semi-finalists

Thirteen members of the Fenwick senior class have been recognized as Semi-Finalists in this year's National Merit Scholarship Program, scoring in the top one-half of one percent on last year's PSAT examination.

William Barshop (Northlake), Montana Birringer (Chicago), Victoria Cooke (LaGrange), Isabel Cwikla (Norridge), William DeMaio (Hinsdale), John Hayes (Western Springs), Robert Klingenberger (Hinsdale), Michael McCauley (Chicago), Patrick Morrissey (Western Springs), Hannah Murdoch (Western Springs), John Reilly (LaGrange), Joseph Rodden (LaGrange), Theresa Steinmeyer (LaGrange)

These 13 students placed Fenwick among the top ten high schools of over 700 in the State of Illinois. Three seniors – Joe Rodden, Bill DeMaio and Patrick Morrissey scored in the top 100 students of over 41,000 who sat for the examination.

Additionally, 2 seniors – Chukwunedum Aniemeka (Oak Park) and Willie Cobb (Chicago) – were named Semi-Finalists in the National Achievement Scholarship Program for Outstanding Black Students – scoring among the top 1600 of 160,000 students who took last year's PSAT. All of these students will continue to be considered for Finalist status and possible scholarships.
