We must love dogs… enough to participate in an adoption event geared towards saving the lives of more than 100 dogs in a single weekend. This Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th, ACL will partner with Petco Foundation and TAILS Humane Society for a "mega adoption event." This event will be held at the Petco stores in Elmhurst and Schaumburg.
Animal Care League will be at the Elmhurst Petco (199 South Route 83rd, Elmhurst.) from 10 AM to 5 PM each day. Our hope is to get all of the dogs adopted during this weekend effort.
This event is a result of ACL and TAILS Humane Society being contacted by several rural counties in Oklahoma for help with their drastic overpopulation of medium to large sized adult dogs. ACL Executive Director, Tom VanWinkle, spent three days in these areas meeting the dogs.
An urgent call was put out by Gretchen Decker, Manager of Canine Operations for short-term foster care for the animals until the event. Arriving last Saturday, October 20, eager foster families waited outside of Animal Care League to take home the dogs they volunteered to care for.
Not ready to adopt, but want to help? Tell your friends, send an email to your "extended family", or donate directly at www.animalcareleague.org

Animal Care League cares as much about dogs as Mitt Romney does. You bring in a dog that was abused, left outside to die in cold weather and the dog STILL is sweet and loving and ACL puts it to sleep. Plus, they use glue traps in their building. Their name is a misnomer. It should be Animal Kill League.
