SEOPCO wants to empower you to take action on this important issue that will negatively affect  our community. The proposed I-290 expansion WILL create more air pollution, noise pollution, visual blight, and lower our property values. It WILL NOT solve highway congestion or safety   concerns. You have only until November 7th to voice your concerns to IDOT.
The issue is joined. Read about it here.

Thanks SEOPCO for continuing to represent the Oak Parkers many Oak Parkers seem to forget live in their same town and pay the same taxes. This project will destroy our property values and irreversibly damage our already compromised air quality. I hope the village board will act to protect the interests of all Oak Parkers.

Snort...this town cracks me up. Leave it to SEOPCO to make a highway project a "social justice" issue. What if the Ms. Song and company confiscate some more tax money and get to them when they are just little dirt roads...

Thank you! You are correct in saying that increased air pollution, increased noise pollution and ugly structures are things that must not happen in any expansion.

Thanks for the link! I was able to find the IDOT website and comment on how I support widening the Ike despite the obstructionist efforts of our village and organizations like SEOPCO!

A group of we older gentlemen, including a retired scheduler for Metra have concluded that there would be a very short term benefit, but after that there could be no justification for the expenditure. Every year, tens of thousands of new drives with new cars enter the system, just from high schools. Solving public transportation issues would be the best solution to improving transportation issues. Please act on this recommendation. JI
