In a time where nonprofit organizations have suffered in a tough economy, the oldest children's day nursery child
care pre-school in Oak Park and River Forest is at a defining moment in history. The Oak Park & River Forest Day
Nursery is pleased to announce the celebration of 100 years of service to children of working families. In honor of
this milestone, the Day Nursery is launching a Centennial Campaign to raise $100,000 to enhance early childhood
programming, improve the interior and exterior of its historical landmark building, and grow the endowment.

The Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery Centennial Campaign, Celebrating Our History, Preparing Our Future
-100 Years, is led by a steering committee of individuals who all have direct links to the Day Nursery -- some with
ties going back more than 30 years -- giving the Campaign a unique historical perspective.

Thanks to the generosity and support of key donors and area residents uniquely tied to the organization, the Day
Nursery has already raised over 50% of its goal before the October 25th Campaign Kick Off launch date. Leading
donors and Honorary Co-Chairs Ellen Gignilliat and Martha Tardy agreed to match dollar for dollar up to $25,000
and recognized the Day Nursery as an invaluable asset to the Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Chicago and
surrounding communities. In addition, internationally renowned architectural firm Perkins + Will has redesigned
the new family and child-friendly front lobby and meeting space pro bono.

With the successful launch, the Campaign seeks community support from individuals, foundations, businesses and
organizations to help reach its fundraising goal. The Day Nursery is seeking gifts large and small. Several options
have been created to make it possible for people to donate and become involved in this important cause and
defining moment. Naming options for outdoor and indoor learning environments, math, reading and science
equipment, and other educational essentials are available. As a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization, all donations to
the Day Nursery are tax-exempt to the extent allowed by law.

The Campaign Committee is at work on a variety of exciting community-based fundraising events to help spread
the word and enlist campaign supporters. To make a contribution to the Day Nursery's Centennial Campaign or to
share your story about the Day Nursery, contact Catherine Hart, Executive Director, at 708-383-8211 or email The Day Nursery would love to hear from former student alums, parents, and supporters.
The Kick Off will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Day Nursery, 1139 Randolph
Street, Oak Park, Illinois 60302. This momentous occasion will recognize and thank donors, provide more
information on the campaign and feature hors d'oeuvres popular throughout the decades. Please RSVP to
