Located in Austin, but serving all of Chicagoland, MindBloom Preschool of Chicago is a distinguishable and affordable mixture of solid educational values and real world experiences. Founded by Susan Banks (Susan), who is a product of Chicago's Austin neighborhood, MindBloom teaches children ages 2-5 HOW to learn and provides them with access to education that WORKS, regardless of who they are or where they live.

How Susan's Mind Bloomed

Through God's grace and her parents' involvement, Susan's zeal for learning and teaching others began early in her life. Early on, Susan competed in numerous spelling bees and academic decathlons in middle school. In high school, Susan excelled in honors courses and the Latin Olympics, winning medals, and was paid by the Chicago Board Of Education to tutor Latin and other subjects part-time. These experiences encouraged Susan to become an Educator, in addition to her dream of becoming an Attorney.

After earning several awards and corporate scholarships, Susan completed college and entered law school, earning both JD and LL.M. degrees in just 3½ years. Washington, DC was the next journey, where Susan tutored again and also practiced Corporate Litigation for nearly 10 years before returning to Chicago to fulfill her mission of empowering others through education.

In 2010, Susan created MindBloom Preschool Of Chicago, to become an effective childcare resource to parents of pre-kindergarten children who demand a stellar education. Susan's small program is modeled after private schools where students excel in academics and in life. A colorful house and adjoining lot Susan purchased for her departed mother, serves as the preschool's site, boldly encouraging any entering child or adult to "Dare to be Remarkable" and to "Bloom Where You Are Planted," as etched on the front steps.
