During Whittier School's class of 1969 reunion, Charlotte Csakai Mesimore led attendees in a song she had adapted to the tune of Paul McCartney's "Yesterday". The song honored teachers, and those in attendance.

Whittier, 700 block on North Harvey

Between Augusta and Thomas Street

Oh, we all went to Whittier

Gillogly, Social Studies always was a blast

Connecting future, present, and the past

Politics and Viet Nam

Mrs. Mitchell, Henderson, Higgins, WIlcox, Smith

Mr. Sheehan did you ever think

We'd meet again like this?

Slavin, we could always make you laugh out loud

And of our poetry you were so proud

Oh, metaphors and similes

Baughman, you said "Hoye chica ven aca

Quien esta ausente cocina

O calle tu la boca

Butcher, double breasted suits and bell bottoms

We thought you looked just like George Harrison

"And that has made all the difference"

Whittier, we all graduated from that school

1969 was groovy cool

Oh we remember Whittier...
