Oak Park resident named director of food and beverage at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park

David Sher was named the Director of Food and Beverage at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, 200 North Columbus Drive, announced General Manager and Regional Vice President, Mark Huntley. As Director of Food and Beverage, Sher oversees all food and beverage operations at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, including the hotel's two restaurants, 16,000-square-foot meeting space and 24-hour room service operations.
"David's unique international experiences bring a wealth of expertise to Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park and we are excited to welcome him to our team," said Huntley.
A 15-year hospitality industry veteran, Sher has experience in all facets of the industry, including operations, management and restaurant conceptualization. Prior to joining Fairmont, Sher held a variety of positions at luxury hotels and restaurants, including General Manager of Olive Leaf Restaurant at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Tel Aviv, Israel; Director of Banquets at RIHGA Royal Hotel in New York; and Concept Director of Simply Zoup in Toronto. In 2010, Sher joined Fairmont as Director of Food and Beverage at Fairmont Chateau Laurier. Sher is a graduate of Institut Hotelier "Cesar Ritz" Colleges in Switzerland and has an Associate Degree in International Hotel Management.
